- First, check the quality of the metal cutting saw you are going to invest in because it will enhance your product quality and in turn credibility.
- Ensure the saw is made of superior quality steel, and especially the blade which should be sharp and about 7″ to 9″ long.
- There are multipurpose blades that are made of steel, aluminum, and stainless steel. These are applicable in case you need to cut wood as well as metals. However, there are dedicated metal cutting saws as well.
- Look for essential accessories such as wrenches, cutting fences, instruction manual, and so on.
- Most such saws would be powered and functional on 110V.
- Ensure you get a blade guard which also collects all the chipped pieces. The guard collects all the chipped pieces and prevents them from scattering and subsequently injuring anyone.
- When using a metal cutting saw to cut metal, check and adjust the depth of the blade.
- Slide the flat bar towards either the right or left of the base plate to install the guide fence. Adjust the dimension and distance from the center of the base plate. Lock the guide fence so that it stays in place.
- Place the metal sheet to be cut at the center of the leading edge of the base plate. The V notch on the base plate must be aligned with the blade.
- Hold the saw in your both hands and press the trigger switch which would start the saw motor.
- Once the motor starts, check the speed for a few seconds before you start the sawing process. Once the required speed is achieved place the leading edge of the blade into the metal sheet or block.
- Blade will now start cutting through the metal.
- When the cutting process is over, release the trigger switch to stop the blade operation.
- Let the blade stop rotating completely and only then take it away from the metal workpiece.
